The Sunnyside Scrambler was created for the 2026 Ride Engineering Compeition. The compeition prompt was to create a 1:50 scale flat ride for Jolly Rancher Chew "riders" that had to be dissasmbled and reassembled in a time limit and envelope. The scrambler egg and chicken themed scrambler was designed for the compeition along with documentation on ASTM F2291, risk assesment, controls and mechcnical design and Factory Assesment Tests and Site Acceptance Tests. The team placed second in the west division out of 16 teams.
For the 2026 year, I was chosen to be our Theming Electrical Lead. In this position I helped decide, create and finalize design decisions to help create a cohesive and exciting experince for our riders. The theming is judged on the excitment, marketability and how captivating it is. I was also the main graphic designer where I create the logo and poster while also facililating all design choices like the theme and what elements were included. In the theming category, the team placed 2nd in the west devision also. I also assisted in writing of code and fabrication of our electrical systems. My work included coding I2C interrupts that the safety related control systems ran off of, soldering many of our electircal componest and assembly and dissassembly on compeition day.
