Group Project built for How to: Design a Science Museum Exhbit created with 5 other members, Erin Fels, Julia McKeag, Ayesha Rawal, Sylvia Robles, and Kira Warren. The goal was to develop an interactive exhibit, that could be used by all ages to help educate about the Aurora Borealis instead of a lack of interaction like during a lecture or reading.
I was the technology lead where I developed our primary control systems. I integrated our Aurora A La Carte website with multiple pot sliders via a Tiny-Core(ESP-based MCU), Wi-Fi, and WebSockets for real-time interaction with assists from ClaudeAI. Within my position, I also designed and soldered the circuitry and control system to create safe and reliable connections. I also developed a printable take-home token for users by integrating a printing system using Node.js where a physical button triggered the printer. Finally, we documented the process, code, materials, and “recipe” for others to repeat and recreate for themselves.
